3. The coming of the Son of Man (13:24-37)

Evil and suffering are not the last word. God himself will intervene, demonstrating his sovereignty over history. Jesus uses a collage of OT texts to communicate the sure hope of the coming of the Son of Man, the day of salvation. In this light, even though the time of the end is unknown by all except the Father, disciples must maintain alertness.
