3. The parables of growth (4:26-32)

These parables underscore a similar point with respect to the kingdom of God—the first by emphasizing the process of growth, the second the contrast between the tiny seed and the mature plant. How the kingdom grows from its small beginnings to a glorious end is God’s secret. In the present, then, one should not be deceived by the apparently insignificant inroads of the kingdom in the world.
