4. Cleansing from mildew (14:33-54)

In the event a person discovers the presence of mildew on the walls of his house, he is to tell the priest, who will conduct an inspection. If the priest confirms the finding of mildew, he closes the house for seven days. On reexamination, if he finds that the spot of mildew has spread, he orders the infected area to be removed and the walls scraped. The residue is taken outside the town, and the house is replastered. After this, if the mildew reappears, the house is to be torn down. Anyone who enters an unclean house becomes unclean himself and must wash his clothes (vv.46-47).

But if upon reexamination of a quarantined house the priest finds the mildew gone, he is to pronounce the house clean. Then offerings similar to the initial offerings presented by an individual who has recovered from a grievous skin disease are made (vv.49-53).
