4. Jesus walks on the water (6:45-52)

This episode is tied to the feeding miracle chronologically and by the note in 6:52 that the disciples' bafflement resulted from their inability to grasp the significance of Jesus as revealed in that miracle. As with the previous sea miracle (4:35-41), so here Jesus is portrayed as possessing divine power.
