5. A blind man healed (8:22-26)

Jesus' ability to heal is clearly attested, and one is reminded that the healing of the blind signifies the presence of the era of salvation (Isa 35:5-6). In addition, the story functions for Mark as a parable, communicating the need for Jesus to heal the disciples of their spiritual blindness.
