5. Feast of Trumpets (23:23-25)

The first day of the seventh month is designated as a day of rest and a time for sacred assembly commemorated with the blowing of trumpets, probably rams' horns. On this occasion a burnt offering is to be presented. These observances set apart the entire seventh month as a high time before God; it was the seventh month when Israel received forgiveness for her sin.
