5. Six tribes (7:1-40)

Ch. 7 provides brief genealogies of six tribes: Issachar, Benjamin, Naphtali, Manasseh, Ephraim, and Asher. This is little more than a census of fighting men. Surprisingly, Benjamin is included here though the chronicler treats this tribe more fully in ch. 8.
