A. Exile Journey Dramatized (12:1-16)

In this skit Ezekiel acted out the general manner in which each of the Israelites would prepare for the long journey to the land of exile. Unfortunately, the many people who watched him saw only an act and not the fact that Ezekiel was God’s sign to them (v.11). The skit made special reference to King Zedekiah as the prince (vv.12-13). He would cover his face as a disguise and try to escape. Then he would be captured, brought back, and blinded by the Babylonians before he was taken to Babylon where he would die (see 2Ki 25:4-7; Jer 39:4-7).
