a. Not to judge one another (14:1-12)

The overscrupulous are weak in faith. Their faith is not strong enough to enable them to perceive the full liberty in Christ to partake of certain food. Since this is not an important issue in the kingdom of God (14:17), when opinions differ, neither side should criticize nor condemn the other. It is the Lord, not we, who judges. Each one is individually responsible to the Lord. Each of us has to give account of himself, not others, before the Lord.
