A. Third Prayer (3:16)

In 1Th 5:23, Paul refers to the God of peace. Now, with characteristic interchangeableness, he ascribes peace to Jesus, the Lord of peace. Paul means much more than absence of strife. Peace is God’s purpose of wholeness or salvation for his people. That is Paul’s wish. The prayer concludes with a benediction.
