A. Timothy To Be Sent Soon (2:19-24)

Timothy will be sent, for Paul wants to know his readers' state, and he wants them to know his. Note the phrases: “I hope” (vv.19, 23); “I am confident,” v.24); and “in the Lord” (vv.19, 24). Paul was no cocksure religionist. His expressions reveal his reverent commitment to God’s will in the matter.
