B. The Gospel (1:18-2:5)

The Gospel of Christ in its three major facets is the subject of 1:18-2:5: (1) the essential content of its message (vv.18-25), (2) the character of its recipients (vv.26-31), and (3) the conduct of the messenger (2:1-5). In each aspect, the logic of the Gospel defies human wisdom and conventional expectations.
