b. The Lord and Asa defeat Zerah (14:8-15)

Zerah’s army greatly outnumbers Asa’s forces. Asa prepares for battle just as Abijah did when confronted by Jeroboam’s troops (2Ch 13). Zerah opposes the Lord himself, so Asa prays for power to defeat this overwhelming foe. In response to righteous Asa, God strikes Zerah down. A huge number of enemy warriors fall, and Judah takes much spoil.
