The Lord fulfills his promise. The Philistines and Arabs administer the heavy blow, taking the royal family and many possessions into exile. The royal line is almost cut off. However, a son remains to continue David’s dynasty. Jehoram dies from his incurable disease and is buried without honor.

The chronicler sums up this reign as eight regrettable years in Judah’s history. Jehoram was not buried with the kings. The author does not tell the reader where to find additional information on this ruler; he is not worthy of research.
