D. Betrayal and Arrest (14:43-52)

The full force of Judas’s treachery is seen in Mark’s description: He is one of the Twelve, he greeted Jesus as Rabbi, and he kissed him. Jesus already has resolved to submit to death as integral to God’s plan, so he offers no resistance to the posse. With the flight of the disciples, Jesus' predictions and the Scriptures are fulfilled.
