D. First Four Trumpets (8:6-12)

The first four trumpets dispatch cosmic plagues, reminiscent of Ex 7:1-10:29. These limited judgments destroy one-third of the earth’s trees and grass; poison the sea and fresh water; and darken the sun, moon, and stars.
