e. Asa fights Baasha (16:1-6)

In this struggle against the North, Asa fails to follow his own earlier example. Instead of trusting God, Asa makes an alliance with Ben-Hadad of Aram. This plan seems successful as the Aramean king attacks his former ally, Baasha, to end the threat to Judah.
