I. Greeting (1:1-2)

This greeting is similar to 1Th with two modifications. First, the word our in reference to God the Father indicates that God is the Father of Christians. Second, the source of grace and peace is God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, a theologically significant combination (see 1Th 3:11). Jesus is the coequal source of peace (see 3:16; Jn 14:27).
