Titus was Paul’s child in the faith (1:4), who according to Tit 1:5 had been left as Paul’s representative in Crete to straighten out what was unfinished and to appoint elders in every town.

Titus is unmentioned in Acts. In Gal 2:1-3 he is identified as an uncircumcised Gentile who accompanied Paul and Barnabas to Jerusalem and helped prove that Gentiles could receive the Gospel. Titus is mentioned again in 2Co 2:13; 7:6-14; 8:6, 16, 17, and 23, where he is commended for his character and ministry and designated as one of those to receive the love-gift offering. In 2Ti 4:10 Titus is in Dalmatia (modern-day Albania).
