With rare exceptions, scholars consistently support Philippians as a genuine production of the apostle Paul. While the unity of the letter has been questioned, there can be little doubt that Paul is the author. Both the external evidence from the church fathers and the internal evidence of the letter itself strongly support its Pauline character.
