The letter concludes with a summary of Peter’s purpose for writing. He has declared the nature of God’s saving grace that makes the readers God’s people, and he has exhorted the readers to live by that grace.
Grace has made them the unique people of God, honored and blessed by God but suspected and abused by non-Christians. The same grace, however, provides them with all they need to be true to their calling as God’s people and to conduct their lives in ways becoming to that call.
