K. The Women (8:1-3)

This is the only gospel to mention that certain women supported Jesus' movement out of their own means. In particular, Joanna, being the wife of Herod Antipas’s manager, was probably affluent. Luke includes both Mary Magdalene and Joanna among the women who discovered the empty tomb (24:10). He does not identify Mary Magdalene with the sinful woman of 7:36-50.
