U. The Dispute About Greatness (9:46-50)

Luke has shown the powerlessness of the disciples, their lack of faith, and their misunderstanding. Now he depicts their ambition and intolerance. When they disputed about precedence in God’s kingdom, Jesus told them that true greatness consisted in childlike humility. And when they tried to prevent an outsider from healing in Jesus' name, he told them to desist.
