The apostles commissioned people for service by laying on of hands Ac 6:6 See also Nu 8:10-11; Nu 27:18-23; Ac 13:3 Barnabas and Saul were commissioned for missionary work.

The appointment of elders Ac 14:23; 1Ti 1:18; 1Ti 4:14; 1Ti 5:22; 2Ti 1:6; Tit 1:5,6-9 Certain qualities are required in an appointed elder or minister.
