APOLLOPHANES ăp ə lŏf’ ə nez (̓Απολλοφάνης). A Syrian who, with his brothers Timothy and Chaereas, was slain in the fortress Gazara after its capture on the twenty-fifth day of siege by “twenty young men” of the army of Judas Maccabeus (2 Macc 10:35, 37).
