ELIPHELEHU ĭ lĭf’ ə le’ hu (אֱלִ֨יפְלֵ֜הוּ, God has set him apart, KJV ELIPHELEH). A Levite assigned to be a musician when David made preparation to bring the Ark of God up from the house of Obed-edom. He is called one of the brethren of the “second order” who followed Heman, Asaph, and Ethan who apparently sang and sounded bronze cymbals while some played lutes (n^ebālîm). Eliphelehu, with others, played lyres (kinnōrôṯ) according to the Sheminith which means possibly “on the octave” (1 Chron 15:18-21).
