ELISHUA ĕl’ ə shōō’ ə (אֱלִישׁ֖וּעַ, God is salvation). A son of David born at Jerusalem (2 Sam 5:15; 1 Chron 14:5). Apparently the same son is called “Elishama” in 1 Chronicles 3:6, but this is prob. a transcriptional error, since “Elishama” occurs again in the next line (v. 8).
