Gate of Ephraim

EPHRAIM, GATE OF ē’ frĭ əm (שַׁ֤עַר אֶפְרַ֨יִמ׃֙, the gate of Ephraim, q.v. [i.e., double product]). A northward (Ephraim) facing gate, 200 yds. E of pre-exilic Jerusalem’s NE corner (2 Kings 14:13; 2 Chron 25:23), rebuilt by Nehemiah (Neh 12:39), and possibly equivalent to the “Old Gate” (Gate of the יְשָׁנָ֜ה, Neh 12:39 [= Gate of the מִשְׁנֶה, H5467]).
