JADDUS jăd’ əs (B, ̓Ιαδδούς, A, ̓Ιοδδούς). A priest whose descendants could not prove their right to the priesthood, since their genealogy was lost, and therefore could not serve as priests (1 Esd 5:38; KJV Addus). He himself married Agia, a daughter of Barzillai (KJV Berzelus, ASV Zorzelleus). He took the name of his father-in-law (Ezra 2:61; Neh 7:63).
