1 Cor 10:2

10:2 all were baptized into Moses. Christian baptism stresses the union of the believer with Christ, and Paul uses the language of baptism in comparing the Israelites and the Corinthians (5:12, 13 note). All the Israelites went through the ordeal and deliverance of the Exodus by virtue of their identification with their leader, Moses. Note the repetition of “all” in vv. 1–3 (also 12:13). “All” the members of the Corinthian church have been baptized into Christ, and have therefore had a taste of God’s deliverance, but that does not guarantee that God is pleased with each one without exception. This passage illustrates and explains the warning in 9:24–27.
