2:27 you have no need that anyone should teach you. Believers have an illumination from God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, who accompanies the Word and keeps us in the truth of the gospel. It is no contradiction that we should listen receptively to other believers, especially when they admonish and instruct us. They also have the Spirit, and the confusion generated by false teaching is a real danger (Matt. 24:24).
