stay with you. David’s decision to seek sanctuary in Moab may be based not only on the assumption that a nation at odds with Saul (14:47) might well wish to side with a rival, but also on David’s family ties to the Moabites (Ruth 4:13–17).
what God will do for me. While taking whatever practical measures he can, David nevertheless sees God in sovereign control of his situation (2 Sam. 15:25, 26).
