22:1–9 The record of Chronicles ties Ahaziah (841 b.c.) closely to his father Jehoram (21:4–20). Both kings were deeply influenced by Athaliah and so are evaluated negatively (21:6; 22:3, 4). In both reigns, the Davidic dynasty barely escaped annihilation (21:16, 17; 22:7–9).
