2 Cor 6:16

6:16 we are the temple of the living God. In the Old Testament God’s dwelling place with His people was the tabernacle and later the temple built by Solomon. When Christ came, He was Himself the true temple or dwelling place of God (Matt. 1:23; John 2:21; Col. 2:9). Now God the Holy Spirit lives in us, and for this reason we are the new temple of God (1 Cor. 6:19; 1 Pet. 2:5).

as God said. The Old Testament promise that God would dwell among His people (Paul’s quotation is from Lev. 26:11, 12) has become the new covenant promise that God would live in those who trust in Christ.
