13:39 The law points the sinner to Christ (Gal. 3:24), for “a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ” (Gal. 2:16). To be justified is to be declared righteous by God (Rom. 3:21, 22), and therefore granted forgiveness of sins (Eph. 1:7). See “Justification and Merit” at Gal. 3:11.
