29:29 The meaning of the latter part of this verse is apparent: God’s revealed law is of vital importance, and the Israelites and their children must follow this revealed law. The reference to “secret things” may suggest that Moses faces the uncertain future of the nation, remembering their waywardness and how they turned to the golden calf at Horeb (Ex. 32). In this uncertainty Moses trusts the hidden future to his trustworthy God.
