14:2 Pi-hahiroth. By divine command, Israel turned back and camped at Pi-hahiroth, reputedly in the vicinity of Rameses (Qantir). This invited Pharaoh’s pursuit (v. 4 note).

Migdol. A general word for “fortification”; its location is presently unknown.

Baal-zephon. This site (“Baal of the North”) was reputed to be in the vicinity of Tahpanhes, near Lake Menzaleh, about twenty miles east of Rameses.
