8:15 none of the sons of Levi. Ezra wanted more Levites for service in the temple (v. 17), and perhaps to help with the sacrifices mentioned in v. 35. He may also have wanted Levites to be part of the caravan to the Promised Land, as they had been at the time of the Exodus from Egypt and the first return from Babylon (1:2 note).
