Gen 50:24

50:24 God will visit you. Like his father Jacob on his deathbed (48:21), Joseph expressed firm confidence in God’s covenant promises and His gracious visitation. The Hebrew verb translated “visit” denotes a divine encounter that will change one’s fortunes for good or ill. For other instances of God’s gracious “visitation” see 21:1 (Abraham and Sarah); Ex. 3:16 and 4:31 (the Exodus); Luke 1:68, 78 (the birth of Jesus); and Acts 15:14 (the extension of the gospel to the Gentiles).

Abraham . . . Isaac . . . Jacob. For the first time the three patriarchs are mentioned together; that era passed, but not its hope (Ex. 3:6; Deut. 30:20; 1 Kin. 18:36; 2 Chr. 30:6).
