30:7 Rahab who sits still. The name Rahab alludes to a chaos monster defeated by the gods in Canaanite creation mythology (Ezek. 28:2 and note). The prophet mocks both the mythical monster and Egypt with a title meaning roughly “Rahab, who does nothing.”
