11:30 from heaven. Jesus’ answer silences the officeholders and professional theologians, for it undercuts the claims of such “official” authority to be absolute. Prophetic authority cannot, by definition, have a human source (Gal. 1:11, 12). It is attested by God and demands submission. With Jesus’ answer is an unspoken and ultimate question: “Do you recognize and submit to My authority?”
