6:9–16 This prophecy consists of an address to Jerusalem (v. 9), an accusation of falsity in business dealings and speech (vv. 10–12), and a judicial sentence of disease and ruin (v. 13–15). The covenantal context is apparent as the punishment reflects the covenant curses specified in the Mosaic law (v. 15; Lev. 26:20; Deut. 28:40, 51).
