13:8–10 Paul now applies further his basic principle of Christian consecration. The connecting link between vv. 7 and 8 is found in the exhortation of v. 7, that the Christian has a financial obligation to the state. This is an application of a general principle now stated, that all obligations must be met. One obligation is permanent—to love others.
