3:6–11 Placed as it is between the two indications that the girl is at home in bed (3:1; 5:2), this wedding scene is best taken as part of her dreaming. Nightmare gives way to fantasy. She dreams of her wedding day, transformed into a royal occasion, with her lover as a king, the magnificent Solomon. It is not the first time she has pictured her lover as a king (1:4, 12; 2:4).
