Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
He shall not acquire multiple wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away [from God]; nor [for the same reason] shall he acquire great amounts of silver and gold.
And he shall not multiply wives to himself, that his [mind and] heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
He must not acquire many wives for himself so that his heart won’t go astray. He must not acquire very large amounts of silver and gold for himself.
The king must not take numerous wives so that his heart doesn’t go astray. Nor can the king acquire too much silver and gold.
Likewise, he is not to acquire many wives for himself, so that his heart will not turn away; and he is not to acquire excessive quantities of silver and gold.
And the king must not have a lot of wives—they might tempt him to be unfaithful to the Lord. Finally, the king must not try to get huge amounts of silver and gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
He shall not have many wives, that may allure his mind, nor immense sums of silver and gold.
Also, the king must not have too many wives, because that will make him turn away from the Lord. And he must not make himself rich with silver and gold.
A king must not marry many wives. They may turn his thoughts away from the Lord. He must not store a lot of silver and gold for himself.
He must not accumulate more and more wives for himself, or his heart may go astray. He must not accumulate excessive silver and gold for himself.
And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.
And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he acquire for himself excessive silver and gold.
The king must not ·have many [multiply for himself] wives, or his heart will ·be led away [turn aside] from God [1 Kin. 11:1–13]. He must not have too much silver and gold.
Neither shall he take him many wives, lest his heart turn away, neither shall he gather him much silver and gold.
The king must never have a large number of wives, or he will turn away ⌞from God⌟. And he must never own a lot of gold and silver.
The king is not to have many wives, because this would make him turn away from the Lord; and he is not to make himself rich with silver and gold.
He must not acquire many wives for himself so that his heart won’t go astray. He must not acquire very large amounts of silver and gold for himself.
The king must not have many wives. If he does, his heart will be led away from God. He must not have too much silver and gold.
Also, he must not accumulate wives for himself (otherwise, his affection will become diverted), nor accumulate for himself excessive quantities of silver and gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives unto himself, that his heart turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver or gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
And he shall not multiply wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.
And he must not acquire many wives for himself, so that his heart would turn aside; and he must not accumulate silver and gold for himself excessively.
He must not have too many wives, lest his heart be turned away from the Lord, neither shall he be excessively rich.
When you enter the land that God, your God, is giving you and take it over and settle down, and then say, “I’m going to get me a king, a king like all the nations around me,” make sure you get yourself a king whom God, your God, chooses. Choose your king from among your kinsmen; don’t take a foreigner—only a kinsman. And make sure he doesn’t build up a war machine, amassing military horses and chariots. He must not send people to Egypt to get more horses, because God told you, “You’ll never go back there again!” And make sure he doesn’t build up a harem, collecting wives who will divert him from the straight and narrow. And make sure he doesn’t pile up a lot of silver and gold.
He shall not acquire many wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he acquire for himself excess silver and gold.
The king must never have a large number of wives, or he will turn away from God. And he must never own a lot of gold and silver.
Neither shall he have a great number of wives, lest his heart turn away, nor shall he accumulate a vast amount of silver and gold.
And he shall not acquire many wives for himself, so that his heart does not turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.
He shall not multiply wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.
He should also not have many wives, lest his heart be turned astray. He must not accumulate large sums of silver or gold.
The king must not have many wives, or his heart will be led away from God. He must not have too much silver and gold.
Furthermore, he must not marry many wives lest his affections turn aside, and he must not accumulate much silver and gold.
The king must not have many wives. If he does, they will lead him astray. He must not store up large amounts of silver and gold.
He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.
He must not take many wives, or his heart will be led astray. He must not accumulate large amounts of silver and gold.
Neither shall he multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply silver and gold for himself.
He must not take many wives for himself or his heart may turn away. And he must not gather much silver and gold for himself.
The king must not take many wives for himself, because they will turn his heart away from the Lord. And he must not accumulate large amounts of wealth in silver and gold for himself.
And he must not acquire many wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; also silver and gold he must not acquire in great quantity for himself.
And he must not acquire many wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; also silver and gold he must not acquire in great quantity for himself.
And he must not acquire many wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; also silver and gold he must not acquire in great quantity for himself.
And he must not acquire many wives for himself or else his heart will turn away; also silver and gold he must not acquire in great quantity for himself.
Neither shall he multiply nashim to himself, that his lev turn not away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself kesef and zahav.
And he shall not multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply for himself silver and gold.
And he shall not multiply wives for himself, lest his heart turn away; nor shall he greatly multiply for himself silver and gold.
Nor should he multiply wives for himself, so that his heart does not turn aside, nor multiply much silver and gold for himself.
This king must not have many wives. If he takes foreign wives in marriage alliances, they could turn his heart away from the Lord and lead him to worship foreign gods. And the king must not accumulate great quantities of silver and gold for himself.
He shall not multiply wives to himself, that his heart not turn away. He shall not greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
The king shall not have many wives, that draw his mind to lusts, neither he shall have great weights of silver and of gold. (The king shall not have many wives, who would draw away his mind to lust, or too much fleshliness, nor shall he have great quantities of silver and gold.)
And he doth not multiply to himself wives, and his heart doth not turn aside, and silver and gold he doth not multiply to himself -- exceedingly.
