It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He giveth His beloved sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, To take rest late, To eat the bread of toil; For so he giveth unto his beloved sleep.
It is vain for you to rise early, To retire late, To eat the bread of anxious labors— For He gives [blessings] to His beloved even in his sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to take rest late, to eat the bread of [anxious] toil—for He gives [blessings] to His beloved in sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
In vain you get up early and stay up late, working hard to have enough food— yes, he gives sleep to the one he loves.
It is pointless that you get up early and stay up late, eating the bread of hard labor because God gives sleep to those he loves.
In vain do you get up early and put off going to bed, working hard to earn a living; for he provides for his beloved, even when they sleep.
It is useless to get up early and stay up late in order to earn a living. God takes care of his own, even while they sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to lie down late, to eat the bread of sorrows: so to his beloved one he giveth sleep.
For thou shalt eat the labours of thy hands: blessed art thou, and it shall be well with thee.
It is a waste of time to get up early and stay up late, trying to make a living. The Lord provides for those he loves, even while they are sleeping.
It will not help you to work all day for food, and never stop. God gives food to the people that he loves. Even while they sleep, God takes care of them.
It is useless for you to get up early and to work late, worrying about bread to eat, because God grants sleep to the one he loves.
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

It is ·no use [in vain; without purpose] for you to get up early and stay up late, ·working for a living [L eating the bread of hardship/pain]. The Lord ·gives sleep to those he loves [or provides for those he loves while they sleep].
It is in vain for you to rise early, and to lie down late, and eat the bread of sorrow: but he will surely give rest to his beloved.
It is useless to work hard for the food you eat by getting up early and going to bed late. The Lord gives ⌞food⌟ to those he loves while they sleep.
It is useless to work so hard for a living, getting up early and going to bed late. For the Lord provides for those he loves, while they are asleep.
In vain you get up early and stay up late, working hard to have enough food— yes, He gives sleep to the one He loves.
It is no use for you to get up early and stay up late, working for a living. The Lord gives sleep to those he loves.
It is useless to get up early and to stay up late, eating the food of exhausting labor— truly he gives sleep to those he loves.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to come home late, to eat the bread of sorrows, because he shall give his beloved sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
It is in vain that you rise up early, That you sit out late, O you who eat the bread of painful labors; For in this manner, He gives sleep to His beloved.
It is in vain for you who rise early and sit late, eating the bread of anxious toil, when thus he provides for his beloved in his sleep.
It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants his loved ones to get their proper rest.
If God doesn’t build the house, the builders only build shacks. If God doesn’t guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap. It’s useless to rise early and go to bed late, and work your worried fingers to the bone. Don’t you know he enjoys giving rest to those he loves?
It is in vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, and to eat the bread of hard toil, for He gives sleep to His beloved.
It is useless to work hard for the food you eat by getting up early and going to bed late. Yahweh gives food to those he loves while they sleep.
It is vain for you to rise early and put off your rest at night, To eat bread earned by hard toil— all this God gives to his beloved in sleep.
It is futile for you to rise up early, To stay up late, To eat the bread of painful labor; This is how He gives to His beloved sleep.
It is vain for you to rise up early, To retire late, To eat the bread of painful labors; For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
It is useless for you to rise earlier and delay taking your rest at night, toiling relentlessly for the bread you eat; for while those he loves sleep, he provides all of this for them.
It is no use for you to get up early and stay up late, working for a living. The Lord gives sleep to those he loves.
It is vain for you to rise early, come home late, and work so hard for your food. Yes, he provides for those whom he loves even when they sleep.
It’s useless for you to work from early morning until late at night just to get food to eat. God provides for those he loves even while they sleep.
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.

It is vain to you to rise before the light; rise ye after ye have set, that eat the bread of sorrow. When he shall give sleep to his loved; (It is useless for you to rise before the light; and then to stay up late, only so that ye can eat the bread of sorrows. For he giveth to his beloved; even while they sleep.)
Vain for you who are rising early, Who delay sitting, eating the bread of griefs, So He giveth to His beloved one sleep.
