Assyria Resettles Samaria

^24 (A)And the king of Assyria brought people from ^(B)Babylon, Cuthah, ^(C)Avva, ^(D)Hamath, and ^(E)Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the people of Israel. And they took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.

¹⁰ and the rest of the nations whom the great and noble ^(A)Osnappar deported and settled in the cities of Samaria and in the rest of the province Beyond the River.

⁵² And ^(A)he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of ^(B)the Samaritans, to make preparations for him.

³³ But a ^(A)Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.

¹⁶ and ^(A)he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was ^(B)a Samaritan.

⁹ The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (^(A)For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)

³⁹ Many Samaritans ^(A)from that town believed in him ^(B)because of ^(C)the woman's testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” ⁴⁰ So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days.

⁴⁸ The Jews answered him, “Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and ^(A)have a demon?”

²⁵ Now when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, ^(A)preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

⁸ But you will receive ^(A)power ^(B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and ^(C)you will be ^(D)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and ^(E)Samaria, and ^(F)to the end of the earth.”
