^31 (A)You shall not behave this way toward the Lord your God, because every abominable act which the Lord hates, they have done for their gods; for ^(B)they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire for their gods.

³ But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, ^(A)and he even made his son pass through the fire, ^(B)in accordance with the abominations of the nations whom the Lord had ^[a]driven out before the sons of Israel.

¹⁷ Then ^(A)they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and they ^(B)practiced divination and interpreting omens, and ^(C)gave themselves over to do evil in the sight of the Lord, provoking Him.

²⁰ “Furthermore, you took your sons and daughters whom you had borne to ^(A)Me and ^(B)sacrificed them to ^[a]idols to be devoured. Were your obscene practices a trivial matter? ²¹ You slaughtered ^(C)My children and offered them to ^[b]idols by ^(D)making them pass through the fire.

²⁰ No, but I say that things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they ^(A)sacrifice to demons and not to God; and I do not want you to become partners with demons.
