⁹ And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing^(A) them.

⁴ Then Jehoahaz sought^(A) the Lord’s favor, and the Lord listened to him, for he saw^(B) how severely the king of Aram was oppressing^(C) Israel.

²⁶ The Lord had seen how bitterly everyone in Israel, whether slave or free,^(A) was suffering;^[a](B) there was no one to help them.^(C)
