¹⁴ Your fame^[a] spread throughout the nations because of your beauty. You were perfectly beautiful due to my splendor with which I endowed you,” declares the Lord God.

Jerusalem’s Arrogant Unfaithfulness

¹⁵ “But you trusted in your beauty. You did what whores do, as a result of your fame. You passed out your sexual favors^[b] to anyone who passed by, giving yourself to anyone. ¹⁶ You took some of your clothes and made gaily-colored high places and prostituted yourself all around them—something which had never happened before nor will ever happen again.
